final files until saturday 1st december
hello all.
on saturday 1st December we will start with the final editing!
what we need from you until then:
all works in:
A5 size 148mm X 210mm
300dpi resolution
send them to my email-adress.
From monday on we will collect prize-prposals from different print shops with a preview pdf of the fanzine. From sandra sule we will get 5000 EEK support!
We plan on having the thing printed on December 10th. Then we can sell it until everybody leaves for christmas.

we are meeting on moday at 15.30 in the foyer of the eka. then we will talk shortly and intensively about the proceeding. we also will ave a short look at the works.

collection
ok! the 21st has passed my dear fellows!
i think we have a woderful collection of our echos so far. here is a link to a pfd. [http://www.momade.de/echofanzine/echofanzine_collection.pdf] it is not supposed to be an editing. it just gives a better image of the works than the blog. the order in alphabetically.
i think this was the first step and we have to go the next. we should meet soon! i printed the pdf today and at the next meeting we should all have a look at the works, discuss and proceed. wether we produce more or if we go into the editing... blablabla and so on and so on...
when shoud the meeting be? i think many of us want to go to the animation filmfestival... please make proposals, in our flat you are always welcome!

the fanzine will be a5 and in black and white.
topic or theme is echo.
work on echo what ever you want!
draw, sketch, fotograph, film (will be on internet with link in fanzine), paint, generate, write, sing (internet) , do research, or associate echo with what ever you want!
deadline for works will be the 21st of oktober. afterwards we will have a meeting where we look at what came together and people will make the editing.
the fanzine will be ready for sell in the beginning of december!

origin of echo - what we always wanted to know
In Greek mythology, Echo was a nymph who loved her own voice.
Zeus, the King of the Olympians, was known for his many love affairs. Sometimes the young and beautiful Nymph Echo would distract and amuse his wife Hera with long and entertaining stories, while Zeus took advantage of the moment to ravish the other mountain nymphs. When Hera discovered the trickery she punished the talkative Echo by taking away her voice, except in foolish repetition of another's shouted words. Thus, all Echo could do was repeat the voice of another.
Echo fell in love with a vain youth named Narcissus. One day when Narcissus was out hunting stags, Echo stealthily followed the handsome youth through the woods, longing to address him but unable to speak first. When Narcissus finally heard footsteps and shouted "Who's there?", Echo answered "Who's there?" And so it went, until finally Echo showed herself and rushed to embrace the lovely youth.
He pulled away from the nymph and vainly told her to leave him alone. Narcissus left Echo heartbroken and she spent the rest of her life in lonely glens, pining away for the love she never knew, until only her voice remained.

Sandra and I were at koopiakolm, the copyshop.
100 booklets (1 EEK per booklet for stamping and folding)
100 EEK
about 30 pages: so about 1500 pages of A4 double side print. (0.97 EEK per page)
1455 EEK
plus a few colored papers and maybe thicker paper than 80 gr, especially the cover
500 EEK
So: In total about 2000 EEK for 100 fanzines.
Makes a prize of 1,30 € or 20 EEK per fanzine with no profit
Or free fanzine and every member of us pays about 14€.
I will talk to the editors of the EKA-newspaper and find out about the prize for 100 newspapers in the size of A3.

I really like the one colored prints. I would immediately go for it. but: how to handle fotography then?
